Update October 21, 2025

2T members are updated about the progress of our zoning application at monthly meetings and in periodic emails. Non-members can track our progress on the Fiddlehead Corner website.

Our official name has changed to Transforming Triangle Retirement (TTR, still 2T for short). When the non-profit was incorporated in 2015, and needed a name, the original small group of dancing friends who started it all came up with Triangle Traditional Music and Dance Retirement Society (TTMADRS). Clearly, we are not good at naming things. Not only is the name (and acronym) too long and unwieldy, but it mistakenly gives the impression that it is only for retired people who engage in Music and Dance, and only Traditional Music and Dance at that. Initially, the group grew by word of mouth - in particular, at dances - so many of the early members dance and enjoy music. But our combined interests reach far beyond that limited sphere. What we do share is an interest in community living where people can experience playfulness, creativity, simplicity and meaning through all of the stages of their lives, combined with the hope that the community we strive to create might serve as a new model for retirement living.

Briefly, here are the developments in 2024 and 2025:

• From 2024 through February 2025 we shepherded our project through the zoning process. 
• On March 6, 2025, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners unanimously denied the rezoning requested by H4D that would have allowed us to proceed with our plan to build Fiddlehead Corner as a clustered community on our property.
• Since March 6, 2025, we have considered the causes for the denial of our request, and investigated our path forward, including what might be accomplished with our current property, and what other alternatives might exist for making our community a reality.

We have reorganized our orientation to be more relevant to the current situation and are holding a session in October and in November of 2025. We might schedule one in December, but are aware of how the holidays fill up everyone’s event calendar !

As you look at this site, you will notice that detailed information ends with our Purchase and Sales agreement from over three years ago, as our efforts are focused on getting things done rather than keeping these pages updated.

Previous updates celebrated the purchase of land on which we hope to build our community - Fiddlehead Corner - in a joint effort with Hands Four Development (H4D), the business arm of 2T. This cooperative is buying and developing the land. 2T continues to support the development of the community as described in the Vision and Mission Statements. 2T’s current focus is education, communication, member recruitment, member support and "community building".

Those who have completed an orientation and have become 2T members are kept informed via monthly meetings and/or updates, where information is shared and bonds are formed. Consider joining the 2T community to participate and support our goal of making Fiddlehead Corner a reality.
